The semiconductor industry is the fastest growing segment in electronics and a key contributor to Singapore’s manufacturing sector.
The semiconductor value chain comprises product design, wafer fabrication, and Assembly and Test (A&T). In the past three decades, Singapore’s A&T sector has undergone great transformation. From labour-intensive manufacturing to more advanced, capital- and innovation-intensive activities such as advanced wafer level packaging, 3D packaging to the testing of sophisticated analogue or mixed signal products.
Today, Singapore is home to more than 20 A&T companies, including three of the world’s top six outsourced A&T manufacturers and many leading integrated device manufacturers (IDMs).
