Overview

The Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications System (WSQ) for Food and Beverage was jointly developed by the F&B industry, which is spearheaded by the F&B Industry Skills and Training Council (ISTC), together with SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).

The F&B WSQ Framework maps out the skills and career progression pathways with nationally recognised certification at each level (operation, supervisory, and managerial) across four specialisation tracks:

  1. Culinary Arts
  2. Pastry & Bakery
  3. F&B Service
  4. Beverage Service

More than 250 competency standards under the F&B WSQ have been developed to assess and nationally certify workers in competency areas in their job.

The WSQ Certifications are awarded by SkillsFuture Singapore, and recognised by Workforce Singapore and F&B Industry Skills and Training Council (ISTC).

With the roll out of the Skills Frameworks (SF) in 2016, the WSQ programmes will be progressively aligned to the SF developed for the sector.
