Workplace Safety and Health for Marine Industry

The marine industry continually takes proactive measures to promote workplace safety and health in shipyards.

The Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications System for Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) – Marine Industry (Workplace Safety & Health – Marine WSQ) was jointly developed by SkillsFuture Singapore, the Workplace Safety and Health Council (WSHC), and the Association of Singapore Marine Industries (ASMI).

In line with the national goal to enhance employees’ abilities to work safely, the Workplace Safety & Health – Marine WSQ looks at the training of marine trade workers.

The marine industry’s healthy growth has led to an increase in manpower for shipyards. Hence, Workplace Safety & Health – Marine WSQ helps ensure that new and existing workers are well trained on safety issues.
