32 Young Talents to Represent Singapore at 14th WorldSkills ASEAN Competition in Manila, Philippines

Singapore will field a team of 32 highly skilled youths from the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and the five polytechnics at the upcoming WorldSkills ASEAN (WSA) Competition, to be held in Manila, Philippines, from 25 to 30 August 2025.
The biennial WSA is the region’s largest showcase of professional and technical skills. WSA Manila 2025 will bring together nearly 300 competitors from ASEAN member states, who will vie for top honours across 32 skill areas. This year’s competition also sees the introduction of Cyber Security as a new skill area.
Team Singapore will compete in 16 skill areas at WSA Manila 2025, spanning diverse fields such as 3D Digital Game Art, Autonomous Mobile Robotics, Cooking, Cyber Security, Electronics, Restaurant Service, and Web Technologies. The list of Team Singapore competitors can be found in the Annex.
The Send-Off Ceremony for Team Singapore was held today at Ngee Ann Polytechnic. Dr Janil Puthucheary, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, attended as the Guest-of-Honour and presented the Singapore flag to the Team Captains – Mr Esben Mong (Autonomous Mobile Robotics) and Ms Winnalyn Tay (Beauty Therapy) – in a show of support for our competitors representing Singapore in Manila.
Mr Tan Kok Yam, Chairman of the WorldSkills Singapore Council and Chief Executive of SkillsFuture Singapore, said: “All our competitors have put in a lot of hard work and dedication in preparing for this competition. We are proud of their efforts and look forward to seeing them do their best and shine on the regional stage. This experience will help them grow their skills and benchmark themselves against the best in the region.”
