Emerging trends and jobs and skills identified for the Training And Adult Education sector in Skillsfuture Singapore's Inaugural Jobs Skills Quarterly Insights

SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) published the first Jobs-Skills Quarterly Insights today. This was announced by Minister of State for Education and Manpower, Ms Gan Siow Huang, at the SkillsFuture Festival@SUTD event today.

The Jobs-Skills Quarterly Insights complements the annual Skills Demand for the Future Economy report, which was first launched in December 2021. They form part of SSG’s ongoing efforts to improve its sharing of information and insights with the public, on skills that matter to employers and the economy.

The Jobs-Skills Quarterly Insights will each focus on a specific sector or job type in the economy that is critical and/or high-growth. This inaugural publication was developed with input from the Institute for Adult Learning and OCBC, and focuses on skills for professionals involved in the Training and Adult Education (TAE) sector. The TAE sector is a critical enabler of lifelong learning and manpower skills development across the economy. A responsive and high-quality TAE sector will raise the quality and relevance of Continuing Education and Training for our workforce.

The report also covers skills that are relevant for anyone who wants to positively impact the learning of their colleagues in the workplace.

Mr Tan Kok Yam, Chief Executive of SSG, said “SSG will take steps to enhance our sharing of skills insights with the public. The aim is to better help Singaporeans identify upskilling needs and career opportunities. We hope that our sharing can enable individuals, companies and training providers to be more responsive to the rapid changes in skills that matter to the economy. We see the development of skills insights as a collective endeavour with industry experts and sector professionals, and we welcome feedback and views on how to improve.”
