Over 260 of Singapore’s Top Skilled Youths to Compete at WorldSkills Singapore 2025

This marks the largest number of competitors to date for the biennial national competition. The event was launched today by Chairman of SkillsFuture Singapore, Mr Tan Kai Hoe, at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre.

This year’s edition features 26 skill areas, ranging from Cooking to Cyber Security, Digital Construction, Health and Social Care, Mechatronics, Mobile Applications Development, and Visual Merchandising. Twenty-one of these skill areas will be contested at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, while three will be held at ITE College Central, one at ITE College West, and one at Temasek Polytechnic. This marks the first time that the competition is being held at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, with the aim of broadening its reach and engaging the public on the value of skills. Beyond recognising skills excellence, WSS 2025 also serves as a platform to generate greater public interest in skills and strengthen the delivery of Education and Career Guidance (ECG) to students. Through an ECG Fair set up with the support of over 70 industry partners, visitors can explore Try-a-Skill booths, 180 skills workshops, and 60 talks by industry professionals across three days. They can also gain insights into different industries at the interactive exhibition booths. Around 12,000 secondary school students, including students from Special Education (SPED) schools, are expected to attend the Fair. The ECG Fair will be launched later today by Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Education & Ministry of Finance, Mr Shawn Huang. In addition to exploring the various activities, members of the public can observe and show support for the competitors at WSS 2025, where close to 24,000 visitors are expected.

Medals Presentation at WSS Closing Ceremony

The results of WSS 2025 will be announced at the Closing Ceremony on Monday, 7 April 2025, at 2pm at Singapore Polytechnic. Second Minister for Education, Dr Maliki Osman, will officiate at the Ceremony and present medals to the top medallists.
