A SkillsFuture Festival for everyone
This year’s SkillsFuture Festival will showcase the close partnership of companies, unions, community groups, institutions and Government agencies, in the promotion of lifelong learning. The Festival aims to reach out to more than 180,000 learners and 2,000 enterprises. Participants can look forward to events such as CodeFuture with Apple, Jobs and Skills Roadshow with National Trade Union Congress (NTUC), Starbucks Learning Bar, as well as a series of online, hybrid and physical activities available island-wide to cater to their learning interests and needs. Refer to Annex A for more details.
For working adults
The SkillsFuture Roadshow will be held from 8 to 10 July. The roadshow will feature information on the in-demand sectors, career and training opportunities, as well as various SkillsFuture initiatives to help Singaporeans upskill. Participants will also be able to receive training advice from Skills Ambassadors and attend job interviews on site.
In partnership with the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) and supported by the Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs), the SkillsFuture Festival @ SUTD will be held on 23 July. Themed “Design for the Future Economy”, the one-day event will feature a range of learning workshops in emerging and growth areas, as well as other training programmes offered by the IHLs.
From 5 to 7 August, SSG and Workforce Singapore (WSG) will jointly organise the SSG x WSG Jobs & Skills Fair to showcase in-demand jobs and skills, and job opportunities. SSG will also partner NTUC to organise the SkillsFuture Festival x NTUC Jobs and Skills Roadshow from 15 to 17 July. The five Community Development Councils (CDCs) will continue to organise the SkillsFuture @ CDCs for residents. SkillsFuture Festival will also feature various fun and interactive learning activities in the heartlands, as part of the National Day celebrations.
For enterprises
The SkillsFuture Festival Enterprise Series will feature a range of activities such as masterclasses, seminars, panel discussions and networking sessions that allow companies to explore and discover opportunities to transform their businesses through upskilling their workforce. The Enterprise Series highlights the key role that enterprises play in the SkillsFuture movement and the importance of workplace learning.
For students
The SkillsFuture Work-Study Fair will be organised by Temasek Polytechnic this year in collaboration with the Polytechnics and ITE. Themed “Secure your Future through Continuous Learning”, it will showcase interesting work-study opportunities for fresh and recent graduates, as well as the industry partnerships that underpin the work-study ecosystem. Participants will have access to a series of webinars and activities jointly curated with industry partners.
SSG will collaborate with The Astronauts Collective to organise the World X on 16 July. Fresh graduates and graduating tertiary students can gain insights on jobs and skills in growth economies and participate in activities and networking sessions with working professionals.
Mr Tan Kok Yam, Chief Executive of SSG, said: “They say it takes a village to raise a child. We think it also takes a village to promote, facilitate, and enable adult learning. So we are delighted to bring back the SkillsFuture Festival, with more partners and new activities. The Festival will celebrate and showcase the collective effort of innovators and contributors in lifelong learning. We hope to reach out to many more Singaporeans, generate some excitement, and help people find the learning opportunities to explore new paths, or move closer to their career goals.”
