Skillsfuture Month 2021

SkillsFuture Month 2021, which started on 8 July 2021, concludes on 22 August 2021 with the SkillsFuture Roadshow at Suntec City. The annual learning event is supported by more than 100 partners, including enterprises, trade associations and chambers, unions and community groups. SkillsFuture Month offered over 300 learning activities that reached out to over 100,000 participants.

Singaporeans benefitted from various skills and jobs events organised that allowed them to access various training and employment opportunities. These include the:

• SkillsFuture Roadshow, a one-stop event where individuals can get access to information and guidance on growth sectors, training opportunities and assistance schemes to help Singaporeans upskill.  NTUC’s e2i and various employers will also be on-site to provide career advice, job interviews and opportunities.
  

• SkillsFuture Month X Smart Nation 2021, a series of physical roadshows and webinars co-organised by SSG and Smart Nation and Digital Government Office (SNDGO), attracted over 15,000 individuals. The event aimed to help more Singaporeans, especially those without a tech background to pursue a career in the growing Information and Communications Technology sector.  
  

• SkillsFuture@CDC, a virtual event organised by the five CDCs, which comprised 25 virtual workshops and Facebook Live sessions covering employability skills, critical core skills, and lifelong learning topics, attracted close to 15,000 participants from the two-week campaign.

To foster greater diversity and inclusivity, SkillsFuture Month also expanded our offerings to more target audiences, such as residents of Pertapis Halfway House to help them gain access to relevant training to increase their employability and to support their re-integration into society. We also supported the Education and Career Guidance efforts for tertiary students and fresh graduates through curated, innovative events such as World X, a virtual career exploration event with volunteer group The Astronauts Collective, and the Twitter Career Roadshow.

Companies, especially SMEs, also benefitted from various learning activities organised for them. These include the:

• SkillsFuture Forum, which was a moderated roundtable discussion attended by over 200 enterprises. Guest-of-Honour MOS Gan, was joined by industry leaders including Microsoft, Grab and Phoon Huat, who shared best practices that enterprises could adopt for business transformation to augment their employee’s skill sets.
  

• Logistics Redefined Learning & Job Fair co-organised by JTC Corporation and SSG. Close to 100 enterprises attended the Post-COVID - Improving Supply Chain Efficiency webinar, to gain insights on how they could gear up to improve supply chain connectivity, visibility and efficiency as we move into a post-COVID era.
  

• AI Digitalisation to Grow Your SME Business, a webinar co-organised with the Singapore Institute of Retail Studies (SIRS) and Heartland Enterprise Centre Singapore (HECS) to share with SMEs about key business elements to operate as a global business, and to signpost SkillsFuture initiatives such as SkillsFuture Queen Bees, SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit (SFEC) and more, to support enterprises in their business transformation.
