The Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) and Events sector in Singapore is flourishing due to rising business visitor arrivals. There were about 2.5 million arrivals from January to September 2012 – which represents a 6 per cent year-on-year growth. The MICE and Events sector is a dynamic one that is experiencing a boost from enhancement projects in Max Atria @ Singapore Expo and Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre. In addition, the convention venues within the two Integrated Resorts (IRs) and new developments such as the Singapore Sports Hub further augments Singapore’s reputation as a place with premier MICE and Events venues.

WSQ Advanced Certificate in MICE and Events
Qualification Objectives
To meet the needs and expectations of guests, hosts and participants at meetings, incentives, conventions, exhibitions and events.
Total Training Hours: 223 – 298 hrs

To achieve a full qualification in WSQ Advanced Certificate in MICE and Events, you must complete 9 competency units comprising 4 core units PLUS any 5 elective units and attain at least 24 credits.

Same comment as for Attractions, should it be “To achieve” or “To attain”.

Suggested Entry Requirements
Trainees are expected to demonstrate competency at level 6 for ES WSQ WPLN.

Qualification Objectives

To achieve a full qualification in WSQ Diploma in Tourism, you must complete 14 competency units comprising 8 core units PLUS any 6 elective units and attain at least 33 credits.

  • Two years work experience at the operations level in the tourism sector.
