Wafer fabrication engineers are responsible for developing, testing, documenting, and improving the production process in wafer fabrication. They select and install equipment, set specifications, and work with technicians to ensure the process is effective and efficient.

The Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications System for Wafer Fabrication (Wafer fabrication WSQ), helps individuals gain the required skills to oversee routine operations as well as diagnose and correct problems during the production process. Wafer fabrication also focuses on the continual improvement of overall operations.

Qualification Objectives
To provide responsive, quality, and reliable semiconductor products to meet customers’ needs.
Total Training Hours: Approximately 400 hrs

To achieve a full qualification in WSQ Certified Wafer Fabrication Engineer (Process), you must complete: 4 Core, 1 Sector Elective and a minimum of 3 courses under a Specialisation track with the remaining course(s) from other tracks; accumulating a total of 10 SOAs*.
